The West Virginia Raptor Rehabilitation Center (WVRRC) is devoted to the heed of injured, sick and orphaned birds of quarry and their eventual release back into the wild. It was started in 1983 as a one man basement operation and now has small independent facility housing an intensive care unit and flight cages with a staff of approximately 40 volunteers. The main motto of WVRRC is not to gain the profit but it to give a new life to the orphaned birds.
The instantaneous and enduring short-term aspiration of the WVRRC is to provide rehabilitative treatment for the raptors in their center. The center aims for the long term environmental education focusing on “man as a part of, not apart from nature.” The on- going scientific research on raptor rehabilitation, behavior and ecology helps in a better understanding of birds quarry. The WVRRC has extensive volunteer network, the medical staff, area veterinarians, educational program presenters and administrative staff which try to give better service as they can. They run the informative program about the values of raptors in the environment.
The WVRRC provide the facility for the birds to keep them in their center for a few days, weeks or even months. Their veterinary staff members liberally care for the birds. Most birds are initially housed in the ICU till strong enough to move into a flight cage. Before release the bird they take test flight to insure the strength and ability of the bird.
The West Virginia Raptor Rehabilitation Center is doing very good service to the nature. They are trying to save the birds. One good thing is that the main motto of the West Virginia Raptor Rehabilitation Center is not go gain profit but to care injured and orphaned birds. They are providing extensive treatment to the birds that need help. It’s a excellent service given by the West Virginia Raptor Rehabilitation Center because birds can’t speak like human being, if they need help than also they are helpless to do anything. But WYRRC try to understand them and give them new life. I’ll say it’s an excellent service given by WVRCC.
